Liz S. Maxwell
Hi, I’m Liz S. Maxwell, a storyteller at heart and a creator by nature. I’m a proud mother of three, a wife of 15 years, and I call Queens, NYC, home. Life here is vibrant and full of inspiration, but when I’m not navigating the city’s hustle, I’m diving into magical worlds of my own making.
Growing up, reading was my escape. With parents who weren’t always very “parenty,” life felt too hard to be present. Books became my sanctuary—a ticket to anywhere I wanted to mentally go. Those pages offered me hope, adventure, and a safe haven when the real world was too much. That’s why I write now: to create that same space for someone else, even if it’s just for a short time.
I’m also a lifelong fan of Labyrinth—so much so that I named my two parakeets Hoggle and Ludo (yes, after the movie). Obsessed? Definitely. Inspired? Always. My downtime is spent filling up my idea journal with new stories and dreaming up characters who beg to come to life on the page.
In addition to writing, I’m a digital illustrator under another name, creating book covers and character art for fellow authors. There’s something magical about turning words into visuals, and I love every second of it.
I cherish quiet moments outdoors, especially in spaces without big crowds (because, let’s be honest, large gatherings give me the anxieties). Whether I’m sketching, relaxing by the beach, or simply soaking in nature’s beauty, those peaceful moments fuel my creativity and keep me grounded.
Thank you for visiting! I hope my stories offer you a little escape, a sprinkle of magic, and a place to feel at home, even if just for a while.
